Travel to Greece: It’s Beautiful

Located in southern Europe on the Balkan peninsula, Greece is a country full of rich history. Greece’s rich history in itself is enough to attract travelers; but throw in the country’s striking mountains, vast vineyards, and exquisite beaches and Greece becomes an idyllic place to visit. Greece is a sightseers paradise. Almost everywhere you look in Greece, you can find medieval castles and churches, ancient ruins and temples.

Visitors can find dense forests in the north, towering mountain ranges in the central region, valleys of grape vines and olive orchards in the south, and white sand beaches on the coasts. A few of the must-see nature spots of Greece include the Caves of Dirou on the Mani peninsula; the Santorini Caldera, a giant bowl formed in the earth by a volcanic eruption; and the Samaria Gorge, the longest gorge in Europe. For outdoor enthusiasts, Greece’s diverse geography offers world-class diving, climbing, hiking, and fishing.

Enjoying Greece’s abundance of activities and sights is easy as most of the country enjoys a Mediterranean climate and seven months of constant sunshine. The hottest months are July and August when temperatures peak during mid-day. During these months, most visitors chose to sightsee during the cool morning hours and lounge on the beach in the afternoon. With almost no humidity, evening in Greece are quite pleasant even during the hottest months, and tourists can comfortably enjoy the outdoor dining and entertainment offered by Greece’s world-class restaurants and nightclubs.

So, whether you want to pass your time sipping wine in the vineyards of Santorini, finding the most palatable olive oil in Ermioni, scuba diving off the island of Crete, or just simply relaxing on the country’s most notable beaches of Balos or Sarakiniko, Greece is the place to be. It’s easy to see why this beautiful and diverse country has earned a spot among traveler’s favorite destinations.
